Logistics Analyst

Location: Arlington, VA

Overview:

Provide technical, and programmatic support to client Program Executive Offices. Efforts may include overarching program management, logistical analysis and support, operations analysis, process improvement and programmatic support. Support a variety of tasks including: support and completion of client briefings; producing process maps and collaborative tools integrating engineering teams, shipyards, sailors in the operating forces, other defense contractors, and decision makers; meeting critical program milestone deadlines; managing program needs and external requirements, and; ensuring the right resources are provided to the right priorities at the right time.

Job Description:

  • Develop, document, and execute logistics processes simultaneously at various shipyards.
  • Oversee execution of the Interim Supply Support (ISS) plan integrating sailors of various ships, the In-Service Engineering Agent, and the Program Executive Office into a cohesive process
  • Effectively translate part failure reports into prioritized actionable parts requirements, develop sourcing solutions for decision makers and supervise approved sourcing actions to resolution
  • Administratively manage associated carcasses and supervise recovery of equipment to depots and OEMs for repair
  • Develop and manage informational and decisioning tools, enabling cross functional team collaboration, driving decision making, and relaying status updates for parts requirements and carcasses
  • Build dashboards, briefs, and track metrics for program leadership based off collected failure and sourcing solution data
  • Document, present, and defend analytical results
  • Apply leadership skills and the ability to manage competing priorities, multiple tasks and work requirements with minimal direction
  • Apply highly effective customer service skills and work effectively across teams to foster a collaborative work environment across the organization
  • Develop, train, and integrate, engineers, sailors, and support contractors on tool usage and logistics processes
  • Conduct assessments of current business practices, tool functions, and existing gaps to proactively solve client pain points without explicit tasking
  • Apply highly effective communication skills (oral and written) and communicate complex issues and present results to senior leadership and others in a clear and concise manner
  • Ability to work without supervision in dynamic environments in line with client, task lead, and project lead intent with minimal guidance
  • Be able to travel no more than 25% of the time in support of operations and conferences

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative discipline (e.g., economics, engineering, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or business) or a discipline that fosters problem solving, structured thought and creativity
  • Active Secret Clearance

Desired Qualifications:

  • 2-5 years of Military or shipyard logistics experience
  • Understanding of weapons and/or automated information systems design, production, operations, and support processes
  • Ability to work autonomously in a variety of environments (shipyards, Naval base, USN ships)
  • Understanding of Navy shipboard logistics systems (OMMS-NG, R-Supply) or other similar military logistics systems (GCSS-MC, GCSS-A, One Touch Support)
  • Understanding of military organizational structure and hierarchy
  • Basic familiarity with DoD Acquisitions process
  • Ability to think analytically, creatively, and critically
  • Ability to precisely and concisely communicate and defend complex analytical results verbally and in various forms of written products
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills
  • Power BI or other business intelligence software experience
  • Familiarity with Power Apps and Power Automate
  • Proficiency with Microsoft SharePoint
